This New Moon occurs in the last degree of Aquarius. Two minutes after the New Moon, both the Sun and Moon go into Pisces. The difference being the humanitarianism of Aquarius and the Unity with all Creation of Pisces. So it is expanding from mankind to all of Creation. We move from the head to the heart.
I was once told by one of my Sufi teachers that one of the meanings of the Muslim prayer position known as sajda where the forehead touches the ground is that the heart is elevated above the head indicating that the head should be in service to the heart, not the opposite as occurs in most of life. When we lead with the heart, we are in line with the Divine. Translated as ‘submission’, many understand this to mean submission to God, Family, Elders, etc. However, I feel the deeper meaning is that the mind (brain) submits to the heart.
This New Moon moving so quickly into Pisces is like the Universe performing sajda.
These days there is so much misunderstanding due to the horrible deeds that some are performing in the name of Islam. Few know the wisdom and beauty of what the Qur’an actually says. For most Muslims, Arabic is a foreign language. They memorize the sounds of the recited Qur’an with no understanding and someone tells them what it means. It takes decades of scholarship to get into the richness and depth of the archaic form of Arabic that it is written in and at least that long to delve into the meaning of it.
Like all the holy books there is wisdom there.
Just as there is wisdom all around us if we are willing to look, listen and feel.
Another interesting fact about this New Moon is that it is halfway between the last of seven exact squares between Uranus and Pluto that started in 2012. A kind of mediation point between Chaos and Destruction.
Stephanie Austin suggests the transition from Aquarian energy to Piscean is the resolution of the square. That we not just perceive our interconnectedness (mental understanding) but move to living from that perspective (becoming one with it). How would that look I wonder?
This New Moon marks the Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the Sheep (Goat or Ram). Since there are five elements in the Chinese system, each of the 12 signs combines with an element creating a 60 year cycle. This is the Year of the Wood Sheep a more creative and peaceful time.
The year when we finally drop our guns and look into each other’s eyes seeing our common humanity and our need to get on with the larger task at hand. All of this war is a distraction from the BIG ISSUE which I see as climate change. If we don’t do something now, there won’t be anything left to fight over.
