Ruled by Venus, it establishes value. It is concerned with sensory pleasures. A Taurus person tends to have a cozy bed and comfy slippers. They may be a very mangy pair of favorite slippers and you better not try to throw them away. A new pair just doesn’t work.
We all have Taurus somewhere in our charts even if there are no planets or asteroids there. It rules the second house, so even if you have nothing in the sign of Taurus, you might have something in the second house and so is influenced by Taurus energy.
Developmentally, we all go through Taurus. It is the second stage
of growth: experiencing the world through our senses and determining what is
ours….my feet, my nose etc. – the first level of acquisition. Then…MY
TEDDYBEAR!!!
Every sign has its light and dark
aspects.
I am currently reading The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond
Yourself, by Michael A. Singer.
He says something that I feel is related to
Taurus:
“During eons of evolution, from the simplest of living forms to the most complex, there has always been the day-to-day struggle to protect oneself. In our highly evolved cooperative social structures, this survival instinct has gone through evolutionary changes. Many of us no longer lack food, water, clothing, or shelter; nor do we regularly face life-threatening physical danger. As a result, the protective energies have adapted toward defending the individual psychologically, rather than physiologically. We now experience the daily need to defend our self-concepts rather than our bodies. Our major struggles end up being with our own inner fears, insecurities, and destructive behavior patterns, and not with outside forces.” Michael A. Singer
The Taurus survival function has been turned inward. We struggle to maintain our inner status quo out of fear of change. The more we do this, the more we will suffer when change inevitably comes.
If you haven’t noticed, things are changing rapidly. There is a lot going on these days. Many people are dealing with this by digging in and hanging on – Taurus.
The Taurus Full Moon asks us to develop inner security. Not by clinging or hanging on, but by trusting that no matter what is happening, we have what we need.
The line from the Rolling Stones song: You can’t always get what you want….But if you try sometimes, well, you might find, you get what you need”.
Everything happens for a reason. Learn to look at the bigger picture. Why are we here? Remember we are Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience.
We have probably had ‘lives’ of other sorts and on other dimensions as well and ‘we’ will continue to do this on our evolutionary journey.
Cultivate inner peace. Smell the roses. Appreciate what you have. Develop gratitude.
