Creativity is in the air!
After years of trying to find the focus of a memoir, I recently found it. Anyone who knows me may have heard stories from my time in the Peace Corps. After this year of so many deaths and a lot of emotionality (Jupiter in Cancer), I realized I won’t be living forever as so many of us with Pluto in Leo have mistakenly believed. We were/are the Flower Children, forever young…really?
The current Uranus/Pluto square is challenging us to look at what we started in the 60s, now that we are 60+, and “Ask not what our country can do for us, but what we can do for our country.” Did we manifest those idealistic ideas or do they remain a ‘pipe dream’?
My Peace Corps experience was disappointing and at first, when I returned and worked for a stint in Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C., I never spoke about it. I was surrounded by bright-eyed happy people telling stories of village life in which they were loved and appreciated. By contrast, during my urban sojourn, people threw dung at me when I rode my bike down the street. Was it me?
Later, I found out that my host country was considered a ‘hardship post’ by other US government agencies and the people they sent there got extra money as a compensation. I described it as ‘a disaster waiting to happen’ and later it did. I did my Peace Corps training in Bukavu.
It has often been my task to learn to ‘make lemonade’, and I suggest you do the same. Find ways to make something useful and delicious with the stuff of your life.
Everything in our chart, even the hard stuff, has a purpose. Our task while here in Earth School it to recognize the hard aspects or unfortunate placements as tools we have been chosen to learn to use in this lifetime. Hmmm let me see, how can I use this Pluto/Saturn conjunction?
I believe that we wrote the script, chose the players and set the scene of our life before we incarnated. Then, forgot all about it. When the ‘xxxx hits the fan’ we act surprised. “How did this happen,” we ask ourselves.
This New Moon conjunct Jupiter in Leo is a perfect time to ‘reframe’ your past and your current life. Accept the mission: You are the Artist and Creative Director of your life. See your life as a movie. If you like it, fine. If not, change the story.
Jupiter represents optimism, faith, and expansion. Leo – courage, creativity and fun. A wonderful combination. In a way, you can say that this New Moon is the opening scene for the year+ long voyage of Jupiter through Leo. What an auspicious beginning!
As I’m sure you’ve heard, we need everyone’s creativity, energy and vision to solve the many issues that plague us here on our home planet. Jupiter in Cancer (home, family) may have highlighted where your own personal work lies. Now, in Leo, you will have the courage and added energy of the Sun to tackle it.
To end I will take the ending quote from Stephanie Austin’s column in The Mountain Astrologer because it is perfect:
“Each of us has an inner dream that we can unfold. If we will just have the courage to admit what it is. What we really want to do is what we are really meant to do. When we do what we are meant to do, money comes to us, doors open for us, we feel useful, and the work we do feels like play to us.”
