What we see is filtered through our personal perceptions. If we don’t believe it, we won’t see it.
What do you see?
There is a book entitled: You’ll See It When You Believe It: The Way to Your Personal Transformation, by Wayne Dyer
What this means to me is that there may be a whole level of
reality that exists, but that we cannot see because we don’t have ‘the eyes to see or the ears to hear’.
We assign meaning to what we perceive. We accept or reject ideas, people, things, experiences based on our opinions and judgments about them.
Last night after returning home after a calm and peaceful Thanksgiving dinner with a friend and her two sons, I had an empty feeling. I wasn’t stuffed, I wasn’t exhausted, I wasn’t burned out. I felt like something was missing.
I realized what was missing was the drama, the constant feeling of betrayal, the need to explain and justify myself that always accompanies meals with my family. What I was initially calling emptiness, was, yes, a lack….but it was a lack of misery. In its place…calm, peace, stillness….all good things.
I spent so many years with my enmeshed family that I had come to accept and expect that icky feeling in order to be satiated.
What I had created for myself was peace, but after years of turmoil, peace felt empty. How could it be that a ‘good’ thing does not satisfy?
We live in a culture that seeks to hook us, so as to control us.
They push an educational system on us telling us that literacy is good, education will give us a better life etc. etc. but….in fact the educational system is meant to teach us to be good employees. We learn to be controlled by the clock. When the bell rings we can eat, go to the toilet, sit up straight, stand up and speak….just like dogs.
We are trained to respond to bells. This system was originally created to train farmers, who worked in sync with nature and its cycles, to work in factories. We are not trained to think for ourselves. We are discouraged from feeling what we are feeling. The system does everything it can to rid us of our intuition and instincts.
I thought about this as I drank a cup of hot tea sitting contentedly in my cozy bed.
In Evolutionary Astrology, Sagittarius, Jupiter and the 9th house
represent natural law as contrasted with man-made law. It represents Truth, rather than truth which is relative.
With the New Moon in Sagittarius during the beginning of the
‘holiday season’, we are being asked to dig down inside ourselves to find our deepest truth. Are we just going along with the ‘program’? If so, why? Are we just afraid to be alone? Are we afraid that in speaking or manifesting our truth we will be rejected? If so, by whom?
Is there anyone who actually knows what’s going on? Why have we allowed ourselves to let others define us and then control us? Betrayed by others for years, we then consent to betraying ourselves.
Remember that we assign significance, importance and meaning.
Nothing is intrinsically important or meaningful. The programming to conform is strong and seems to represent reality. It all looks so convincing.
I think it is amazing how human beings have created all these structures: money, family, even God…then somehow, someone or a group of someones forces all this on the rest of us. If we
don’t conform, we are seen as peculiar.
But what if you were the Author, the Director and the Producer of
your own life?
Guess what….you are. Stop living someone else’s life!
