My jewelry business Silk Road Soutache (www.silkroadsoutache.com) is taking off. My ‘dream’ is coming true. The vision I had that compelled me to pursue this new venture is about to manifest. I am scared, excited, stressed and satisfied. Whew!
The transit you ask? New Moon conjunct (within 4° orb) my South Node and Chiron in Scorpio in the 3rd house square Pluto conjunct Saturn in the 12th house in Leo….Jupiter in Virgo transiting the first house. Clearly, there is much more going on here, hence the mixed emotions. Was I killed, incarcerated, locked up, and tortured in a past life due to my artistic endeavors? Maybe. So here we are now about to ‘hit the big time’ and although there is no danger of any of the above occurring now, there is a reticence to launch. I have been so tempted to say “not yet, I’m not ready,” but fate has called me to step out and all my friends say I am beyond ready. With Virgo rising, the temptation is always to say, “not yet, I’m not ready,” but if not now when?
My point in relation to this New Moon. While waiting at the dock for your ship to come in…don’t just dawdle. Keep busy ‘doing’ something, so that when your ship arrives you can get on it. Don’t let it pass you by not being ready. Act ‘as if’ all the time, so that you can step into your new role effortlessly.
Years ago when I was in the Peace Corps in Zaire aka the Congo, I used a couple of books as my touchstones. Journey to Ixtlan, by Carlos Castaneda was one of them. When confronted by a challenge, I would randomly open the book for the ‘message of the day.’ It was highly effective and got me through the experience of living in another culture that I did not understand. One of the ideas in that book that stuck through all these years was that of using death as an advisor, which I have continued to do since the 70s when I first read the book. We never know when or how we will die. When death comes, will we say, “I’m not ready, I didn’t write my book yet, create my masterpiece…” fill in the blanks. DO IT NOW! or forget about it.
Scorpio is known as the sign of death, transformation and rebirth. In order for change to happen, something has to be shed. It’s not always bad. Sometimes what has to be shed is doubt, fear, pain, or limitation. Sometimes what is coming is better than what was before….not worse. Think of the caterpillar becoming the butterfly. Most people love the butterfly but did it not arise from the ‘disgusting’ caterpillar?
Humans have an incredible capacity to adapt to their circumstances albeit with a certain amount of complaining at times. We can get used to just about anything. We can also get on a downward trajectory for one reason or another. But what if things were going to get better? Can we allow radical improvement? Do we ever think of what we want life to be for ourselves and others or are we only focused on dealing with what is? It’s important to be here now…but we also must have something to hope for, something to give life meaning.
As Saturn in Sagittarius moves into an exact square with Neptune in Pisces around Thanksgiving, it’s time to open up to the manifestation of your dreams. What is your dream? What would ‘coming true’ look like?
Suddenly the words from a musical from the 50s popped into my mind:
“Happy Talk” from South Pacific:
“Happy talk, keep talking happy talk,
Talk about things you'd like to do,
You gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream,
How you gonna have a dream come true?”
Saturn in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces Mantra
It’s easy for us to be in fear, doubt, down turn, worry etc. these days. The news media bombards us with negative messages so it’s not surprising if you have given up.
Meanwhile, Neptune in Pisces its own sign, is compelling us to follow our imagination and find ways to channel our creativity – despite the odds (as Caroline Casey says). The orbit of Neptune is 164 years long and Neptune stays in a sign around 13 years. The last time it was in Pisces was 1849-1862 a time of huge changes in the United States and the world. The unimaginable became a reality. The changes led to the abolition of slavery, the admission of California as a state (the land of dreams, the golden state) as well as a ground swell of spiritualism, interest in Eastern religions and the metaphysical.
So, I suggest dear reader that you follow your dreams. Use this New Moon to shed your fears and doubts and follow the beauty path into your future.
Today may I walk out in beauty.
With beauty may I walk.
With beauty before me, may I walk.
With beauty behind me, may I walk.
With beauty above me, may I walk.
With beauty below me, may I walk.
With beauty around me, may I walk.
It is finished in beauty.
It is finished in beauty
