Time is FLYING by and I realized the other night that when I don’t do this blog…I lose track of the Moon altogether.
So since a type of New Year starts for me with this Full Moon in Virgo on Monday February 22, I am going to make an effort to get back on this horse. It did create a certain rhythm in my life that I need. With Jupiter in Sagittarius in my 4th house for the next period, the horse needs attention.
It’s not that I have been being idle. I have been diligently making jewelry. I am now in two galleries The Sebastopol Center for the Arts and The Sebastopol Gallery downtown and have a big show in April Art is You, where I will be selling at their Trunk Show Friday night, Saturday and Sunday April 15-17.
I also did two juried shows in December for the Holiday season.
I am developing many new designs and styles for different venues and have two workshops scheduled at Wynwoods Beads in Port Townsend, WA in June to coincide with the Brass Screw Confederacy http://www.brass-screw.org/ weekend in June.
I was sick for over a month then fell and bruised a rib…so healing has been a key theme for the past couple of months.
But looking and listening to the world around me, I think healing is a recurring theme. So many people I know and don’t know, but am witness to their lives on Facebook, have lost loved ones this winter. It’s almost phenomenal.
This Full Moon faces Sun, Neptune, Ceres, Chiron and the South Node in Pisces. Hello. Clearly stuff is coming up to be healed.
The Pisces/Virgo axis relates to the Victim/Victor in all of us and in fact, the whole planet. Can we heal our wounds? Can we look deep inside to understand their origins, then have the courage and stamina to move beyond that? Caroline Myss used the word ‘woundology’ to describe how many of us communicate. We greet people with our wounds expecting them to treat us differentially because of our ‘disability’. We use our history as an excuse for bad behavior or for not taking responsibility for ourselves. Woundology becomes a habit and as we know habits can be hard to break. Virgo offers us an opportunity to create new habits…healthier ones.
Most of our lives are spent in habitual, ritualistic behavior and it is said our ‘addictions’ keep us attached to the Earth. We all have our daily routine which when or if disturbed, causes us to be all out of kilter. How many people think they can’t survive without their morning coffee? What if the doctor said “no more coffee for you” would your life fall apart?
Meanwhile Jupiter conjunct the North Node in Virgo, acting as a guru, teaches us to take small incremental and (most important) regular steps every day towards creating new habits and ultimately, healing.
The most important part is recognizing one’s behavior. If you can’t see it, you can’t fix it. Give yourself some credit for just seeing what you are doing to create your world.
I heard Brene Brown on KPFA the other day. She used the acronym RAIN (interesting coincidence since I have been shouting at the Universe “I HATE RAIN” lately due to various situations in my house). Anyway
R – Recognize See what you are doing and feeling.
A – Acknowledge See how it is affecting your reality.
I – Investigate Go inside and try to understand where the feelings come from.
N- Nurture Have compassion for yourself and others who are also struggling and make effort towards changing the energy in a more positive way.
It is not easy and some days you just cannot do it. You are in reactive mode and that’s it. With my Mars closely conjunct my Ascendant, I have what I call a ‘barking dog at the gate’. Anything or anyone who comes in is subjected to sniffing then possibly biting and sometimes licking. But only after a certain amount of barking.
Astrology has helped me to identify this tendency and many more. It has made them more conscious but sometimes the dog gets out before I can control it. It’s a process of domestication.
I found myself thinking about how there must be some kind of existence after death because it’s a bit inconceivable that we go through all this then poof it’s over. If it is over, then nothing matters at all because it’s all gone except for in the mind of those who knew us, or if we have built monuments, then they last for a few generations or so.
The fact that we are so intensely involved in the things of our life which have such power to control and affect us is absurd in some way, if we are not meant to acquire something of lasting value from overcoming the obstacles we each face. Anyone who is reading this knows there’s more to life than making money or being famous. Even the rich and famous die.
This search for that ‘something else’ is also part of the Pisces/Virgo axis – the ‘higher’ octave. The so-called spiritual aspect of the axis. Pisces the Ultimate, God/ Virgo the Way to get there so to speak. The practice.
We have to develop our Ego so we can harness it so we can let it go. The path to freedom is about surrendering yourself in service…willingly and through your own volition. It seems contradictory, but all the mysteries contain similar paradoxes.
Be kind to yourself, but don’t stop moving.
