My challenge is to stay grounded and continue to make efforts to get anything done. I have transiting Neptune sitting right on my natal Moon in Pisces and it will last throughout the entire year! I had intended to get these posts out a week before the event, but I find it extremely hard to focus and put words together. I am having a lot of insights and my meditation time is getting richer each day, but ‘doing’? If I didn’t have Mars opposing natal Moon and transiting Neptune, I might stay in bed all day just ‘dilly dallying’ as my mother would say.
I tell you this to let you know that your life may not be turbulent, upside down or any of that. As I said earlier, how it affects you depends on your natal chart. If you were born with challenging aspects, you are used to it. Your whole life has been full of challenges – what’s one, two or three more?
For others of you, you may feel like your world is turning inside out. And it probably is. So what are you going to do?
This Full Moon in Scorpio occurs in the midst of the continuing energy of the Grand Cross in cardinal signs and a Grand Trine in water. Deep emotions may surface despite all efforts to hide or deny them. The light of the Sun in Taurus exposes what Scorpio tries to conceal. Scorpio hides due to its extreme sensitivity. Not wanting to be vulnerable to further pain, it seeks to hide and bury the feelings.
Enlightenment is not just for saints, gurus and spiritual masters. It is for all of us. That is the example given by Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad and all prophets and teachers. They tried to show us how to get there, because our souls all want to go on that path, but our egos don’t want to make the effort. The ego wants the status quo. But I will say this , the harder you cling, the worse the ‘crisis’ will be if and when it comes.
They were special and not special. We would rather put them on pedestals. That gives us an excuse to do nothing. If the prophet is different and special, then we are off the hook. Our false humility says: “I am not Christ, I can’t do that.” That is missing the point completely.
One tendency that people have is to create heroes. It looks good. But it is a way to avoid doing anything yourself. The hero becomes the recipient of both our praise and our blame if he doesn’t measure up. This is something that happened to President Obama. So many people were ‘disappointed’ when he turned out to be a human being rather than a demi-god. But how many people used him as an inspiration and example of something to which they could aspire?
Stephanie Austin in her article in The Mountain Astrologer says: “In Taurus (the Sun), we discover what we require; in Scorpio, what we most desire and what we most fear. Fear is a message that we have arrived at a new frontier.”
I read a post on Facebook recently that suggested we do something each day that we fear. I thought: “no thanks.” But I think the message behind it is to push yourself beyond your self-imposed limits. Don’t go with the easiest way out.
Stephanie Austin in that same article quotes Rumi:
“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?”
Do you think the butterfly would prefer it stayed a caterpillar?
If your life does not provide a.ny challenges to your status quo, find some. Go volunteer. There are plenty of causes that need your energy and input. Go pet cats or walk dogs at the local animal shelter if you think you can’t handle other human beings and their problems.
Consider getting a reading so you can better navigate this important transformational time.
